Can a beginner learn to easily style curly hair? The answer is yes, once you learn the different curly hairstyles it gets easier to create them at home. Remember you don’t have to stick to one style on your curls simply because you are unsure what might work for your type of curly hair or face structure. Most of the styles I have mentioned below such as the Messy Bun, the Scarf Headband, Color Pop Curly Hair, the Big Curly Afro, and many others can easily be created and suit your preference.

Products and tools you will need to Create Curly Hairstyles

  1. Rubber Bands
  2. Gold Hair Cuffs Rings
  3. Edge Brush
  4. Curly Hair Edge Control
  5. Scarf

The Scarf Headband

@karastase-official

The Scarf Headband style is an easy-to-go hairstyle that can be acquired in an instant minute. It is also a good hairstyle for people that want their hair out of their faces and still look stylish.

Steps

Fold your desired scarf inwards from the edges and twist it until you have a straight band.

Place the center of the scarf on the back of your head and pull it upwards towards the mid-top of your head.

Twist the two ends of the scarf around each other once, and then pull them down underneath your head and make a knot.

Let your hair out and you are good to go.

The Rubber Band Side Part with Gold Hair Cuff Rings

@tameramowrytwo

Rubber bands and Hair cuffs rings are the most common stylish accessories used to style curly hair. The good thing with rubber bands and cuffs rings is that you can use them on your side sections, middle parts, or the entire front parts of your hair.

Steps

split the side of your hair in half. Remember we are only going to use the upper half, hence make sure to create a clear straight side part.

Separate the upper half into three midsections and tie a rubber through all parts. You can use any rubber band color.

Connect the three sections into one and add your gold hair cuffs at the edge of each section.

@nayannesantana

Steps

Create a box part at the middle upper section of your hair.

Separate the same section into 6 mini squares. They can either be mini squares or triangles, it depends on your preference.

Tie rubber bands through all the squares.

Form a cross by taking the left twist and connecting it with the right opposite twist with a rubber band.

Make sure to twist the hair before connecting them to ensure you get a more defined X design.

Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the twist until the top section is complete and you will have a beautiful criss-cross design.

Don’t forget to lay those edges.

@curlyideia

The messy middle pony/bun is among classic hairstyles, however, make it extra by leaving some little curly rings around your hair

Steps

Separate the little curly rings around your hair from the rest of the hair. You can also make just two rings in front and two at the back.

Tie the rest of the hair in a middle pony/bun with a beautiful scrunchie.

You can retouch the curls with curling products or a curling iron to make sure they pop.

The Front Bantu Knots

6

@leariellesimone

Steps

Separate your front hair into four sections.

Make at least five mini braids from each of the four sections.

Tie all the mini braids in each section into one big section with a rubber band. Repeat the same procedure with the remaining three sections.

Twist the ends of the sections with braiding braids especially if your hair is short. You will have a big twist that can be wrapped around the hair while twisting to make a Bantu knot.

Add braiding rings and lay the edges.

Accessorize with any hair accessories.

The Big Curly Afro is also popular among hairstyles on social media. I would describe it as a bold chic hairstyle for casual wear. However, make sure you have a good Curly Hair Routine to maintain your curls and avoid Frizz.

The classic middle part hairstyle is great for curly hair. It is one of my favorites because it tames your curls and gives it a more natural and voluminous look. The hairstyle is also easy to achieve. Make a clear part in the middle of your hair and you set.

The Front Cornrows

The curly hair front cornrows hairstyle is perfect for an everyday look. To acquire the perfect cornrows, part your front hair into eight sections and braid them separately to attain eight Cornrows. You can add some beads or hair rings at the end of the Cornrows.

Mohawks are an iconic hairstyle for women who want to go natural but still want to rock a look that is bold and chic. A perfect undercut will transform your mohawk and give you a unique style. Make sure your stylist is good at cuts and creating mohawks because one wrong move can ruin the entire style.

Color Pop Curly Hairstyles

@samaraoliveirareal

Like many other hairstyles, you can achieve a beautiful color pop with a curly hairstyle. You can either go permanent or temporary, but make sure you choose the right color and learn how to care for colored curly hair. Get creative and mix two colors that will make you stand out.

@sil.maravilha

Add a modern twist to your curly with the two front braid hairstyles. It is an ideal casual style for young women. Create the look in just minutes by grabbing a small section in the middle of your upper hair and separating it into two. Then Braid each part separately.
